Tether, the dominant stablecoin issuer, has forged a strategic alliance with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to combat escalating cybercrime across Africa's rapidly expanding cryptocurrency markets. The collaboration comes as Interpol reports uncovering $260 million in illicit crypto and traditional currency transactions.

The initiative will leverage Tether's blockchain expertise and UNODC's international network to enhance digital asset security frameworks. Educational programs targeting both regulators and retail users aim to foster responsible adoption while mitigating fraud risks in high-growth markets.
